FIVE-BEDROOM DETACHED HOUSE IN WHITECRAIGS, GLASGOW

Project: The design and installation of a chevron tile floor also using our Woodland Cairngorm Porcelain. This project also involved a detailed survey and recommendations to contractor on the sub-floor preparation required.

THE BRIEF

Situated in the desirable Whitecraigs area of Glasgow, this modern property was due to undergo an extensive renovation converting the kitchen, utility, dining and living area into an open plan, functional family space.
We were approached by Joni Ancill from Joni Ancill Interiors, Newton Mearns, to provide a flooring solution for her clients that was fresh and contemporary yet practical for a young family. The client was also looking for ‘wow factor’ in the main entrance hallway, while maintaining flow and continuity throughout.

THE SOLUTION

During their showroom visit Joni and her client were instantly taken with our Woodland range of Porcelain, which is available in four colours and has an incredible similarity to the texture and look of real wood. Our Cairngorm porcelain matched the brief exactly – the appearance of limed oak, stylish and bright, with a subtle warmth of colour and easy practicality of porcelain.
To compliment the large open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living area and Utility the impressive large format 1200x300mm plank was installed which worked effortlessly in proportion to the shape of the space.
And the chevron option was chosen in the same Woodland Cairngorm colouring for the main entrance hallway, adding splendour and interest underfoot.
As well as the careful set out and design of the chevron flooring, our installation service included the installation of an anti-crack membrane and offered those all-important finishing touches, such as threshold details and the inclusion of a coir matwell.
