THE BROCH, ISLE OF HARRIS

Project: Supply of engineered oak flooring and limestone flooring for west coast island property.

Products chosen: Engineered oak plank – Beaulieu Chocolat Engineered Oak. Natural Marble – sadly this marble is no longer available, however we have a similar marble tile St Joseph Honed Marble.

THE BRIEF

The architect was looking to specify hardwood and natural stone flooring suitable for use over underfloor heating and which would be complimentary to their clients very unique build on the Isle of Harris.

THE SOLUTION

We recommended our Beaulieu Chocolat oak flooring in 180mm wide boards, as this bleached style board offers a distinctly coastal feel, and the underlying grey tones work wonderfully with the local natural stone used to build this fantastic home. The results were stunning, particularly in the lounge and bedrooms where our Beaulieu Chocolat flooring goes hand-in-hand with our client’s driftwood style furniture, and where you feel as if you are actually living outdoors.

A limestone flooring with cool tones was required to keep the palette consistent and this was achieved using our Firenze Honed Marble in 610x305mm tile size. The honed finish of the Firenze Marble offers a slightly more contemporary feel in a property cleverly designed to incorporate both the old and the new.
