Internal Stone

Our indoor stone flooring & walling range includes Limestone, Travertine, Marble, Slate, Sandstone and Quartzite in a range of sizes and finishes to suit properties from castles to contemporary state of the art buildings. Unimaginably ancient yet entirely modern, stone has a timeless quality that ensures its enduring appeal.

Stone is so versatile that it is ideal for any room of the house, but the durability and easy maintenance make it a great choice for flooring in heavy-wear areas like hallways, boot rooms, utilities and kitchens. Natural stone such as Travertine and Limestone is particularly impressive in bathrooms & wet rooms, where their inherent natural beauty will provide truly awe inspiring sanctuaries.

Each type of stone is formed differently, hence their differences in strength, colour, texture and composition.

Sandstones, Limestones and TravertinesSandstones, Limestones and Travertines are sedimentary stones, formed by the compression of layers of mud and fossils in old sea and river beds. Their colours are generally beige, cream and almost white. Sandstone has a high silica content which gives it its sparkle, while in limestones, you can often see remains of shells and fossils.

MarbleMarble is a metamorphised form of limestone and is formed when granular limestone or dolomite rocks crystallize twice under the influence of vital elements like heat, pressure, liquid and chemical action.

Quartzites and SlatesQuartzites and Slates are the metamorphic rocks – changed through heat or pressure: quartzite from sandstone and slate from clay-rich rocks under pressure for millions of years. Slates tend to be darker and fine-grained – and can be found in an amazing variety of colours!

Remember that no two natural tiles will be the same. Therefore a sample must not be taken as a guideline as to how a floor will look – it is only an indication. But the final result will still show each product's dominant, natural beauty and colour.

We recommend that you visit our showroom where large panels of our products can be viewed. The inherent variations and total effect of natural flooring can then be fully appreciated!

We highly recommend that stone is sealed during the installation process to help protect it and allow for easier daily maintenance – please see our Floor Care and Cleaning Products section for further details.
