Note: Calculate the area of the room by multiplying the length by breadth and add an allowance for wastage & cuts – if rooms are regular in shape then a 5% allowance for timber should be sufficient. If rooms are awkward in shape or have steps, alcoves etc., then an additional allowance may be required.
